Fantasy Football Recap: Colts v. Jets Monday Night Studs and Duds
In tonight’s Monday Night Football match-up, the Colts and Jets each had some critical fantasy football pieces. Between Andrew Luck, Chris Ivory, and Andre Johnson the potential for fantasy points tonight was strong. After it was all said and done, the JETS rose victorious over the Colts.
Here are some of the fantasy stats that we saw come out of tonight’s game.
We’ll also highlight what happened in our NFL Mocks Staff fantasy football league. You can get all the latest NFL Mocks fantasy advice and listen to our podcast here, only at NFL Mocks and Blog Talk Radio!
Fantasy Stud of the Night: Jets D/ST
Going into this week, I made the Jets D/ST my watch list group heading into this week. The response was understandably harsh. It was a bold pick, but I stood behind it. The Jets run defense and upgraded secondary would hold on against a struggling Colts offense. What happened tonight? They held Andrew Luck and his offense to seven points, had three interceptions, and two fumble recoveries. All in all, a 14 point night from the Jets D/ST.
Matt Holowiak pulls the win over Jonah Tuls with the help of the Jets D/ST to continue his undefeated run.
Fantasy Dud of the Night: Andre Johnson
The highly touted free agent pick up from Houston will be on the side of milk cartons tomorrow in Indy. Only three catches for 27 yards. Another lackluster performance results in back to back fantasy disappointments where he’s scored two points in each game. There won’t be room for excuses from the Colts offense, especially for a proven veteran like Johnson.
In a smart move, Geoff Zlobinsky sat Johnson, but failed to beat Sayre Bedinger.
Fantasy Surprise of the Night: Donte Moncrief
Despite the Jets defensive performance, Donte Moncrief had a decent game. Eighteen fantasy points after hauling in over 120 receiving yards. The Colts only score came on the hands/legs of the sophomore receiver. He was added in nearly 30% of ESPN fantasy leagues this week, so someone must have known something.
