Fantasy Football Recap: Broncos v. Chiefs Thursday Night Studs and Duds

facebooktwitterreddit

Wow. What just happened….. They had.. but then… I don’t even know.

Just roll the screen and check out our fantasy football studs and duds from tonight insanity that was Denver over Kansas City.

Fantasy Stud of the Night: Emmanuel Sanders

With 40 seconds left, Jamaal Charles was my fantasy stud of the night. With the final minute touchdown, Emmanuel Sanders and Peyton Manning each had 20 fantasy points. Consider Manning’s performance a very strong runner up. The fact that Sanders had two touchdowns (and possibly cause he’s on my fantasy team) earns him my Fantasy Stud of the Night award.

Fantasy Dud of the Night: C.J. Anderson

For a guy who was in ESPN’s top ten heading into the season, only having five fantasy points after two games is awful. He got just as many opportunities as he did last week against Baltimore, but still managed to do less. While the Broncos squeaked out a win on an unfathomable fumble by Jamaal Charles, Anderson’s lack of contribution made this game closer than it could have been. Two points is unacceptable for a starting running back in todays NFL.

Fantasy Surprise of the Night: Broncos Defense/Special Teams

Just like my previous comment about having to change Charles to Sanders, I had the Chiefs D/ST penciled in here. Both teams played well defensively but the Chiefs had so many chances to put the game away with dropped interceptions. There wasn’t one player who really stood out as a surprise, but the Bronco’s defense being able to fill in every stat box made their case. Three fumble recoveries, two interceptions and a touchdown made all the difference.
