Marcus Mariota proves again why he should’ve gone #1
More than ever this stigma of “not running a pro-style offense in college” should be on the respirator among GMs and front offices. Marcus Mariota proved at Oregon he could score lots of points and do it without turning the ball over. His four touchdown passes and perfect quarterback rating against a professional Tampa Bay defense only further proves it.
In truth, based on personal accomplishment he should’ve gone before Jameis Winston in the draft. He’s older, far more mature, takes better care of the ball and is more athletic. It’s amazing how the fact he didn’t run a traditional offense erased all that.
