SEC
Shawn Spencer: Kyle Allen, QB (Texas A&M) – Leonard Fournette and Nick Chubb don’t play with quarterbacks who are going to prevent defenses from loading the box, so I’ll go with Kyle Allen who is running a QB-friendly offense with 6 of his top 7 receivers from last year and a very good offensive line. Plus, the Aggies two toughest tests, Alabama and Auburn, will both be played in College Station.
Tyler Morales: Nick Chubb, RB (Georgia) – Chubb gained national attention during his late season destruction of the SEC. Chubb as a freshman ran for 1500 yards, 12 TDs and did not even start five of those games. With a Georgia offense who likes to run the ball, Chubb is going to make a name for himself as the best running back in college football. Chubb has all the potential in the world to put up some of the best numbers we have ever seen from an SEC running back.
George Stockburger: Nick Chubb, RB (Georgia) – It’s not often you see a backup running back, a freshman at that, rush for 1500 yards and 14 touchdowns. A lot did come after Todd Gurley went down, but he still produced nicely in the backup role.
Jonah Tuls: LaQuon Treadwell, WR (Ole Miss) – Easily the best wide receiver in the nation, and arguably, one of the best wide receiver prospects we have seen since the Julio Jones/AJ Green era. If he can regain his strength from his leg injury, he’s going to put up some insane numbers that possibly look even better than Amari Cooper’s of last year. Not only will he be a Heisman finalist, but he will also be a top five pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Book it.
Matthew Holowiak: Nick Chubb, RB (Georgia) – Now we all know I’m a Georgia fan, but this isn’t a homer pick. Nick Chubb is a thoroughbred, plain and simple. On a Georgia team that we thought was loaded with depth, he proved he can take the entire load himself and decimate the competition. Easy pick as an early Heisman favorite.
Ryan Coon: Nick Chubb, RB (Georgia) – Todd Gurley is getting Adrian Peterson comparisons and he may not have even been the best RB on the Bulldog roster last season. What’s the Best way to forget about the best Georgia RB since Hershel Walker? Have his more skilled replacement waiting in the wings.
Sayre Bedinger: Nick Chubb, RB (Georgia) – Again, I hate to be completely obvious here. The SEC has plenty of exciting Heisman candidates as usual, but Chubb is perhaps the most likely of them all. Taking over for Todd Gurley, he looked incredible last season. This should be a big time breakout year for him.
