Kansas City Chiefs: Marcus Peters
Another prominent player who will be lost to suspension is cornerback Sean Smith. Though not quite at the level of Richard Sherman or Darrelle Revis, he was a big part of the pass defense last season for the Kansas City Chiefs. Hopes are high that they get immediate help from 1st round pick Marcus Peters.
An athletic and productive playmaker at Washington, Peters left the program early following a confrontation with the coaching staff. It led to his draft stock taking a hit, but that didn’t seem to scare off Kansas City. A testament to how good he is and can be. He’s seen plenty of action in the preseason thus far, but needs to continue smoothing out his technique before they can rely on him as a starter.
