Injury good fortune already starting to dissipate
One of the big, overlooked reasons why the Green Bay Packers had a great 2014 season and came minutes away from reaching the Super Bowl was a very fortunate run of good health, particularly on the offensive side of the ball. None of their most notable starters suffered a long-term injury of any kind. However, as so many people know the injury bug is indiscriminate. One year it can be kind and generous and the next wreak havoc across a roster.
That has become the case for the Packers as they’ve likely lost star wide receiver Jordy Nelson for the season to a torn ACL. This is before actual games are being played. All the team can do at this point is pray it’s not an omen of things to come.
