The competition for the return man job has been rather anti-climactic thanks to the play of veteran Marc Mariani. After a strong debut in week 1, he was at it again in Indianapolis. On three punt returns he averaged 18 yards apiece, including a beautiful 29-yarder to set up one the Bears’ early field goals. No question his roster spot is secure and any lingering doubts about his health are finished.
