Miami Dolphins: Five rookies to watch vs. Panthers
5. Jay Ajayi, RB…?
For as popular a player as Ajayi was coming out of Boise State, it’s been really quiet this last week on the news front since he came back to practice. Some people considered this guy to be the third best back in the draft, but the Dolphins stole him in the 5th round after long term injury concerns pushed him down or off of some people’s boards. The reason we have a question mark here is because we’re not sure if Ajayi is going to even play in this game for the Dolphins. There were reports that he had come back to practice last weekend, but nothing on whether or not he would play this week. Here’s one of the more recent updates from Dolphins camp…
Perhaps that’s an indication — if anything — that Ajayi will be a game-time decision this week. The Dolphins have no need to rush him back, but it would be nice to see what you’ve got in the rookie. Either way, if he plays, he’s perhaps the #1 rookie to watch in this entire game.
