Cleveland Browns: Johnny Manziel still looks lost
Owner Jimmy Haslam was resolute in the fact that the Cleveland Browns were not ready to give up on second-year quarterback Johnny Manziel in the wake of his rehab battle and ugly rookie season. Still, it is always a question of how much patience an organization has.
Manziel is going up against a career journeyman in Josh McCown for rights to the starting job. For most 1st round picks, that should be a slam dunk. Instead it has been McCown who has set the tone in camp, making it clear he’s the better quarterback. Manziel still can’t stop making his careless mistakes and often appears lost when trying to read a pro defense.
Does he have the work ethic to fix that problem? Some have their doubts.
