Before the suspension of Sheldon Richardson, rumors persisted that the New York Jets and Muhammad Wilkerson were approaching the point of no return on long-term contract talks.  This has led to the belief that the 26-year old was either destined for free agency or a trade, especially after the team drafted Leonard Williams with the 6th overall pick.  That idea will be postponed for the first month of the season at least with Richardson out.  However, things might change around the trade deadline in Week 8 if talks don’t progress.  Wilkerson is a versatile defensive lineman who can shift inside and outside, suffocates the run and collapse the pocket with the best of them.
