The SEC East has been living in the shadow of the SEC West lately.  Powerhouse programs like Tennessee and Florida have taken a couple of steps back from their glory days in the late 90’s and early 2000’s.  Georgia has remained a model of consistency, but can’t seem to find their way over the hump.  South Carolina has had a few chances to take that crucial next step as a program, but never seemed to be able to do so.

How down has the SEC East been lately?  Missouri has represented the East in two of their first three season in SEC play — a feat that no one saw coming, especially after a 5-7 start in 2012.  However, it looks as if the power is once again shifting in the East.

While this may not be the year that the East tops the West in Atlanta, it appears that the gap is at least beginning to close.  An Eastern team hasn’t won the SEC crown since 2008, when Urban Meyer’s Florida Gators took down mighty Alabama.  So who gets the honor of representing the East in December?  Here is my best guess.
