The Contenders
Peyton Manning
One would thing the guy who has won the MVP award more times than any player in history (5) should always be considered a threat to do so again. Even at age 39, Peyton Manning is dangerous. His arm isn’t what it once was, but his mind has never taken a step back. If the Denver Broncos have kept his arsenal strong enough, don’t bet against him securing #6.
Tom Brady
Like Manning, the worst mistake to make is betting against Tom Brady. Even as he’s set to miss the first four games due to suspension, he’s the kind of Hall of Fame player that would make it irrelevant by returning to terrorize the league in getting his team back on track on the strength of his leadership and right arm.
J.J. Watt
All one needs to know is he was the biggest contender to Rodgers last season. J.J. Watt would already be a two-time MVP if he didn’t have the stigma of playing on defense in the NFL. He doesn’t just sack quarterback (a lot), he does everything his team asks of him and more. Ask the question where that Texans team would’ve been without him in 2014? Not 9-7 is a safe bet.
