The Oakland Raiders finished last season with the fourth worst record in football, but for the first time in a long time, the arrow for this team seems to be trending up.

Oakland hit on a couple of draft picks last year with Khalil Mack in the first round and Derek Carr in the second round, picks that could very well change the entire course of this franchise. Mack established himself early on as one of the best run defending linebackers in football, and Carr — by most accounts — had the best rookie season of any young QB in the game.

As we approach the 2015 season, I want to take a look at the skill position depth charts for all NFL teams, and see what kind of upside we have not only on the field, but for you fantasy football junkies as well.

Quarterback: Derek Carr

As with most rookie quarterbacks, the 2014 season was a bit of a struggle for Carr, but compared to some of his peers, he put up really good numbers. Completing just over 58 percent of his passes, Carr threw for 3,270 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

Compare that to Blake Bortles, who threw just 11 touchdown passes compared to 17 interceptions.

Carr is largely expected to make a huge leap in 2015 and continue his progress in becoming a ‘franchise’ quarterback for this Raiders team. As we know from his time at Fresno State, Carr has a really strong arm. He showed phenomenal progress last year in his decision making and it’ll be exciting to see what kind of improvements he makes this season.
