Philadelphia Eagles: 5 Predictions For the 2015 NFL Season
One of the NFL’s most interesting teams endured a wild off season after missing the playoffs last season. Here are five NFL predictions that may come true for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015.

Jordan Matthews breaks 1,000 yards and 10 TD’s
With the departure of Jeremy Maclin, Jordan Matthews should explode this season in this offense. Matthews showcased his talents with Mark Sanchez at quarterback and showed Eagles fans that he can be lethal when given an opportunity. He gained 872 yards and 8 TD’s last season in a slot receiver role and now that he is the team’s number one option he should top those numbers with ease. I wouldn’t even rule out a pro bowl bid for Mr. Matthews, he’s that talented and now has the starting job to run with.
Devante Davis starts over Riley Cooper
Right now Cooper is slated as the starter opposite of Jordan Matthews. Devante Davis is a prototypical Chip Kelly wide out. Davis was signed as an undrafted free agent from UNLV who has the ideal size at 6’3 to be a starting wide receiver in this offense. Davis dominated in college and for some reason went undrafted, Chip Kelly took advantage of that and signed him to a contract. Right now Davis is more talented player then Cooper and it shouldn’t take long for Chip Kelly to realize that.
Eric Rowe starts all 16 games at cornerback
Eagles drafted Utah’s Eric Rowe for this reason exactly. They need a shut down cornerback who can make plays on defense. The Eagles have no plans to start Rowe at safety so this is his job to lose. He has injury prone Walter Thurmond behind him but Rowe’s length, ideal size and tackling ability should give him the edge in this battle. Rowe was drafted to come in and make an impact from day one and Chip Kelly won’t hold him back. Rowe has the potential to be a shut down corner in this league and this would be a great start if he were to start all 16 games.
Sam Bradford throws 30+ TD’s
If Bradford can throw 21 TD’s for a pathetic Rams receiving corps in 2012, he will have no problem topping 30 with a quarterback friendly offense. This offense allowed Nick Foles, Michael Vick and Mark Sanchez to be productive and a more talented Bradford should exceed them all. A productive Eagles running game should allow Bradford to throw to more open receivers. There was a lot of criticism towards Philly trading for Sam Bradford but a healthy Bradford is better than Nick Foles and he should prove that this season.
Eagles win the Division
The only real threat in this division is the Dallas Cowboys and the Eagles signed one of Dallas’s focal points during this off season. The Eagles have improved tremendously on defense and that’s what cost them a playoff bid last year. Cowboys still have an issue on defense and the Eagles exposed them last year scoring 33 and 27 respectively. Dallas won their second matchup against Philly thanks to the Eagles inability to cover anybody on Dallas’ offense. The offense has downgraded and their defense remains suspect. Philly should be able to win this division, something they should have done last season.
