68. P.J. Williams, CB/S, Florida State

I saw a comparison of P.J. Williams to Charles Tillman, and I thought that was really solid. He’s not the fastest corner, but he’s explosive, aggressive, has a nose for the football, and could possibly double as a safety if needed.

The Raiders are pretty desperate for cornerback help, but some scouts feel Williams is best fit on an island in the NFL. He doesn’t have the best recovery speed, but this is a player that can lock receivers down from the inside, outside, or over the top.

Oakland has some weaknesses in the secondary, particularly at safety where they’ve tried adding some guys that don’t have the kind of longevity they’re going to want at the position. I think they can take Williams and feel comfortable knowing that as a rookie, he can contribute as an inside or outside corner and eventually take over for Charles Woodson at free safety.
