NFL Draft Day Two: Best Players Available
By Joe Wedra
We’re approaching the start of NFL Draft Day Two, and plenty of prime players remain. Many first round graded prospects are still on the board, giving us an intriguing start to the second day of the Draft.
Shaq Thompson and Damarious Randall were the curveballs of night one. Several Alabama Crimson Tide prospects are waiting for their name to be called. Check out some of the hottest names below.
Landon Collins, S, Alabama
A bit of a surprise that he has yet to be selected. Top-ten looks were expected. Potential cobwebs here that only NFL teams are aware of.
Randy Gregory, OLB, Nebraska
Maybe some expected a slide, but this one is notable due to the extreme talent. Watch out for Oakland early in the second round.
La’el Collins, OT, LSU
After his off-field issue (warranted or not), many are wondering whether Collins will be drafted or not. It’s possible he doesn’t find a home this weekend.
T.J. Clemmings, OL, Pitt
A bit of a surprise here. Clemmings was looked at by some as a sure-fire first round talent. No doubt, he’ll be going fairly early tonight.
Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State
Another major surprise. Strong was often graded out as the 4th best WR prospect in the class. Now? His slide could be one of the most notable of the year.
Jake Fisher, OT, Oregon
Fisher won’t last too long. Tackle is a major need around the league in the new era NFL. Fisher’s talents will be appreciated by a team early in the second.
Eric Kendricks, LB, UCLA
A very good prospect who possesses first-round talent when he’s firing on all cylinders. Likely a middle 2nd round pick.
Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida State
Potentially one of the most surprising falls of last night. Goldman can play, and NFL teams know that. He shouldn’t last until the 3rd round.
Owamagbe Odighizuwa, DE, UCLA
The commissioner is glad he didn’t have to say Odighizuwa’s name last night. The UCLA standout is the center of many differing opinions, but he has the chance to be taken at the tail end of the second.
Devin Smith, WR, Ohio State
Some thought he’d go first round … Now, he might be the highest-ranked pass catcher on the board. His “one trick pony” label may hurt him a bit.
P.J. Williams, CB, Florida State
Ranked as a first-rounder by many, Williams is deserving of a look early in Day Two. Possibly the best corner available — his DUI won’t help much.
