Recap:

During the draft, Chip Kelly was able to address all of the needs previously listed without reaching.

At safety, the Eagles drafted Utah’s Eric Rowe and Oregon’s Erik Dargan. While neither player will set the world on fire, both should be solid players for the Eagles. Rowe will have a chance to start right away for the Eagles and be a big help in pass protection, while Dargan will give the Eagles depth at a position of need.

Chip Kelly addressed his need at receiver, drafting USC’s Nelson Agholor and Georgia Tech’s Darren Waller. Agholor is raw, but has tons of potential and will the favorite to be the Eagles starting receiver at the start of the 2015 season. While Waller will be limited in year one, he will be allowed to develop in practices and his limited role, preparing him to make a jump in year two.

At corner, the Eagles were able to snag Kevin Johnson out of Wake Forest, who is one of the top corners in this year’s draft. Johnson is a great scheme fit for the Eagles and a tandem of Johnson and Maxwell should bring some stability back to the Eagles secondary.

Last, but most certainly not least, the Eagles were able to acquire their guard of the future by trading up to draft Ali Marpet out of Hobart. Marpet, much like Waller, will be able to develop during his rookie year and he wont be forced onto the field before he is ready.

Overall, this is a very good draft class for the Eagles and one that should excite their fan base moving forward.
