Tim Tebow Working Out For Eagles on Monday
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, former Denver Broncos first round pick and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow is working out for the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday.
You know, in case you didn’t think Chip Kelly had more tricks up his sleeve…

Tebow was last in the NFL at camp with the Patriots prior to the 2013 season, and hasn’t played a down in the league in two years. He was hired on by ESPN to be a college football analyst, where he excelled and has been training in hopes of an NFL comeback.
There were recently rumors that Tebow was going to be possibly entering the up-coming veteran Scouting Combine, but that isn’t happening as he will be making the rounds apparently on his own.
Tebow certainly has taken the right steps to get back into the league, starting with working with Tom House, who is also the personal quarterback coach for Tom Brady.
Working with House doesn’t make Tebow an NFL quarterback, but there have been reports that he’s throwing the ball really well at workouts and he could impress the Eagles staff enough to warrant another shot in the league. It would certainly be a phenomenal fit.
Chip Kelly is one of the most innovative offensive minds in the NFL, and getting a guy like Tebow to be a project/backup player in his offense shouldn’t be as criticized a move as it has already been by so many people on Twitter.
The hate for Tim Tebow is hilariously annoying at this point, but they would say the same about people who still want the guy in the league.
The Eagles are in deep with Chip Kelly, so at this point, we’re all going to see how far the rabbit trail goes. Signing Tebow would add to the delicious platter of storylines the Eagles have created this offseason, but it wouldn’t mean anything in particular for whether or not he’d be in the NFL this season.
I have no doubts that Tebow could be of use to an NFL team, even as a third quarterback. Tebow, when playing for the Broncos, proved to be one of the most effective short-yardage runners in the NFL. If the Eagles roster him along with Mark Sanchez and Sam Bradford, they’d have a couple of more traditional pocket passers and then a guy like Tebow who could come in, be a dual-threat player, and give them someone that I feel could run for plenty of touchdowns as a goal line player, whether at QB, RB, or FB.
I find it hilarious that people don’t think Tebow can be useful to an NFL team. Sure, he’s not the pocket passer people want him to be, but if he earns a spot after a tryout in Philadelphia, it’ll be a great way for him to get his feet back into the NFL.
