NFL Trade: Reports Say Sam Bradford and Nick Foles Swapped
By Joe Wedra
We have BREAKING NEWS in the NFL world. It is being reported that an NFL trade has taken place — the Philadelphia Eagles and St. Louis Rams are swapping quarterbacks. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Nick Foles and Sam Bradford might be switching teams in the 2015 due to a major trade that is about to take place.
UPDATE at 5:10 ET: Multiple media outlets are confirming that this deal, if done, will also be teams swapping first-round 2015 NFL Draft picks.
We will update the official word when it is reported, but here’s what you need to know as we dive into this wild, unexpected, crazy, and well, insert any adjective you want here.
RAMS GET FOLES
This is huge. St. Louis needs a quarterback, and Nick Foles can be just that. Who would have thought that these guys could get a whole lot better via a trade before the 2015 NFL Draft? If Nick Foles does take the helm, things are immediately shuffled.
If this does happen, Foles will start immediately. That isn’t in question. What a wild development!
EAGLES GET BRADFORD
Well, this throws a bit of a wrench into any plans that Chip Kelly may have with Oregon QB Marcus Mariota. If this happens, does everything change?
You have to look at it via multiple angles. Bradford is anything but a sure thing, but why would Philadelphia deny him a chance to at-least make a run at being their starter?
We’re not sure of any logistics, but many wouldn’t be surprised to see both of these guys starting under center for both of these respective teams in the 2015 season.
It’s free agency season — don’t be surprised with anything we see in the next few hours!
