Does one good draft separate the Kansas City Chiefs and contention?  Well considering they beat both Seattle and New England last season, one must assume that.  Here is there latest mock draft and where they could go this spring.

1st Round

D.J. Humphries. 18. player. 124. Protecting the quarterback has always been priority one for Andy Reid on offense.  His line need more help, preferably at tackle.  D.J. Humphries has risen steadily throughout the draft process.  Why?  He’s big, athletic, proven in the SEC and carries a nasty disposition.  All his issues are coachable and he’s more than good enough to anchor the left side, relieving Eric Fisher of the job.. OT. Florida

2nd Round

ILB. Clemson. Benardrick McKinney. 49. player. 124. Inside linebacker has become a problem for the Chiefs of late due to injuries and depleted talent.  Benardrick McKinney could be their answer to finding somebody who can play next to Derrick Johnson.  The Mississippi State standout lacks star power but he’s big, versatile, athletic and makes a lot of plays around the line of scrimmage.  He also brings pass rush skill too.

3rd Round

124. Better late than never, right?  Wide receiver is an area many fans will scream for.  Some may not be happy waiting until the 3rd round but rest assurred it was worth it.  Tyler Lockett loses points automatically for only being 5’10” but that hasn’t stopped Antonio Brown or T.Y. Hilton from dominating the league.  Lockett is in that same mold of speed, agility, good hands and excellent route running.. WR. Kansas State. Tyler Lockett. 80. player
