ECU WR Cam Worthy Scouting Report

Eastern Carolina University wide receiver Cam Worthy has some of the best size at his position coming into the 2015 NFL Draft. Below is a full scouting report, with video and draft analysis.

Strengths: Cam Worthy measured in at the combine at 6’2” and had enormous arm and hand length. His hands measured in at 10 1/8” (half an inch larger than average) and his arms measured at 33 1/2”.

NFL WR arms are typically 31”, giving Worthy a strong advantage. He uses his size to high-point balls for deep catches, making him primarily a redzone target on fade routes in the future. He has the awareness to track balls well and can find the open field.

Worthy also had 1,000 receiving yards his senior season with four touchdowns.

Weaknesses: Worthy originally started at a junior college before transferring to ECU. He was redshirted his first season, and only played two full years. He does not possess the top speed or quickness needed at the next level.

He is mainly referred to as a one-speed runner. Worthy did not participate in any drills or workout at the combine, with the exception of the bench press, where he only managed 12 reps. Because he only played two seasons, he has very little experience and refined ability.

Worthy was suspended for two games of his senior season after a verbal confrontation with another male student.

Records/Awards: Possesses a vertical leap of 43″, which is the third-highest jump ever recorded by an ECU Pirate football player.

Pro Comparison: Worthy is compared to Jeff Janis, who was drafted by the Green Bay Packers last year. They possess similar size and lack of top speed.

Draft Projection: Worthy is not expected to be drafted by most draft analysts. Because of his size, he could be a contender for Mr.Irrelevant with the last pick in this years draft.
