2015 NFL Mock Draft Update — Scouting Combine edition.

The 2015 NFL Draft is fast approaching, and with the Scouting Combine officially in the books, it’s time to take another crack at a mock draft and see where these guys will land. Our staff got together on Sunday night and put together a two-round NFL Mock Draft, putting on our general manager hats and trying to make the best picks we could to improve all 32 NFL teams.

After the Combine, one thing really became clear and it’s the fact that Jameis Winston appears to be the clear front-runner for the number one overall pick in this year’s draft. So, that’s where we start…

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Jameis Winston. 1. player. 48. Charles McDonald: This pick feels like a lock. Winston was already the favorite to go number one before the combine and he may have solidified that status with a great week in Indianapolis. Winston carried himself with poise and was exceptional in his press conference and interviews. Tampa Bay gets their guy.. Quarterback. Florida State

2. Tennessee Titans

Defensive Tackle. USC. Leonard Williams. 2. player. 35. Erik Lambert: The compulsion to go with Mariota will be strong, but Leonard Williams is the best overall player in this draft and the Tennessee Titans defense would benefit way too much to pass on him.  His pairing with Jurrell Casey is a home run.  They’ll figure out the quarterback problem in due time.  Until then a dominant defense won’t hurt.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars

player. 52. Joe Wedra: This “best player available” pick makes sense. Jacksonville really needs help getting after the passer; Gregory is the perfect guy to get the job done. If Leonard Williams had been available, he would’ve been the pick. . Defensive End. Nebraska. Randy Gregory. 3

4. Oakland Raiders

Wide Receiver. Alabama. Amari Cooper. 4. player. 28. Tyler Morales: Oakland needs a playmaker to help out Derek Carr. Cooper is the top wideout in this draft and adding him gives Oakland something to build on offense. Derek Carr and Amari Cooper could be a formidable duo for years to come in Oakland.

5. Washington Redskins

6. New York Jets

Vic Beasley. 6. player. 30. Geoff Zlobinsky: A week ago, I wouldn’t have made this pick. But with his added weight and combine performance, plus strong game tapes, Vic Beasley cemented himself as a top-10 pick. Beasley will fit in nicely with Todd Bowles’ defense and be a cornerstone for the Jets defense for years to come.. Linebacker. Clemson

7. St. Louis Rams (from Bears)

51. Charles: Mariota fell past the Jets, so the Rams pounced on the opportunity and struck a trade with the Bears. The Rams get to grab their quarterback of the future while really only surrendering a third round pick. Sounds like a major win to me. Mariota has the upside to be a special quarterback in the NFL.. Quarterback. Oregon. Marcus Mariota. 7. player

8. Atlanta Falcons

Linebacker. Florida. Dante Fowler Jr.. 8. player. 44. Joe: Atlanta fans should be very thankful they got a pass rusher here. Fowler is a phenomenal prospect that will make the fans very happy. A perfect player to fill a very big need.

9. New York Giants

player. 31. Erik: The receiving corps is going to be awesome for the New York Giants, provided of course they ensure Eli Manning is protected.  Right tackle and guard are two areas to address and Brandon Scherff can do one or the other.  He’s an absolute powerhouse who will blow open running lanes and anchor the interior against all types of rushers.  He has All-Pro potential and is the next piece needed towards turning that offense into something special.. Offensive Tackle. Iowa. Brandon Scherff. 9

10. Chicago Bears (from Rams)

Sayre Bedinger: Transitioning to a 3-4 defense is always a challenge, but looking at the Bears’ roster, it’s going to be a monumental task. Starting from the inside-out, Danny Shelton is a great pick here and I felt good about making a trade to move down and stockpile picks at the same time. This is a mammoth, athletic player who can occupy multiple blockers as well as wreak havoc on QBs.. Defensive Tackle. Washington. Danny Shelton. 10. player. 57
