Maturity

This is obviously the only thing holding Winston back from being an elite NFL prospect. Winston’s continuous acts of stupidity have placed a giant question mark next to his name. We all know what’s gone on over the past few years; NFL teams are likely digging daily to see what they can find on this kid.

Teams have to be legitimately concerned about his red-flags. Organizations could feel like handing the keys to their franchise over to Winston could be a horrible idea. The former Seminole standout is going to have to improve on his maturity if he really wants teams to take him seriously.

Poor Decision Making

Most of Winston’s 18 interceptions were caused by horrible decision making.

Multiple times, Winston panicked when he saw incoming blitzes and threw the ball into double or triple coverage. He was guilty of forcing the issue at times rather than sitting back and letting the play develop.

Too many times, Winston made more than puzzling decisions in big games. This one against Notre Dame was absolutely horrible…

Instead of taking a few yards on a scramble or throwing it away, Winston decided to do more then he needed to and allowed an Oregon touchdown.

Bottom Line

Jameis Winston is the best player in this draft. If there weren’t issues about his maturity, he’d be the unanimous first overall projection. Tampa Bay needs to draft him and let him flourish in their system.

Draft Projection

#1 overall. If not, he won’t fall out of the top-10.
