Best Pick – Darrelle Revis, CB, 14th Overall in 2007

Darrelle Revis was the cornerstone for the Rex Ryan defenses from 2007-12. He consistently went against the opposing teams top receiver, and usually shut them down. If it weren’t for a torn ACL he suffered during his final season with the Jets, he might still be there. Revis has proven over his career that he is one of the top two cornerbacks in the game (Richard Sherman) and is well on his way to being enshrined in the Hall of Fame.

Other selections considered:

D’Brickashaw Ferguson, OT, 4th Overall in 2006

Nick Mangold, C, 29th Overall in 2006

David Harris, LB, 47th Overall in 2007

Muhammad Wilkerson, DT, 30th Overall in 2011

Sheldon Richardson, DT/DE, 13th Overall in 2013

Worst Pick – Vernon Gholston, DE/OLB, 6th Overall in 2008

Oh boy, the holy grail of defensive lineman busts.

Gholston looked like he was going to be a dominant pass rusher leading up the 2008 NFL Draft. He was the exact opposite of that during his NFL career. Gholston never recorded a sack through his NFL career and failed to latch on to another team after the Jets cut him.

Not even Rex Ryan could figure out a way to make this guy productive. That’s a serious indictment against your talent level.
