Minnesota Vikings

Best Pick – Adrian Peterson, RB, 7th Overall in 2007

The future may be murky for Adrian Peterson in Minnesota, but he has unquestionably been the best player for the Vikings since 2007. Remarkably consistent and resilient, he has carried the load for the Vikings every season. His most impressive campaign was in 2013 when he ran for 2,097 yards just nine months removed from ACL reconstruction surgery.

His 10,190 rushing are the most in Vikings history and good for 28th all time.

Other selections considered:

Chad Greenway, LB, 17th Overall in 2006

Everson Griffen, DE, 100th Overall in 2010

Harrison Smith, S, 29th Overall in 2012

Xavier Rhodes, CB, 25th Overall in 2013

Worst Pick – Troy Williamson, WR, 7th Overall in 2005

Troy Williamson had phenomenal speed, and was one of the fastest players in the 2005 NFL Draft.

That’s about all he had going for him. He couldn’t catch a pass to save his life, much to the chagrin of Vikings fans, coaches, and players. He only totaled 1,067 yards in 3 seasons with the team before he was traded to the Jaguars after the 2007 season.

Other selections considered:

Erasmus James, DE, 18th Overall in 2005

Chris Cook, CB, 34th Overall in 2010

Toby Gerhart, RB, 51st Overall in 2010

Christian Ponder, QB, 12th Overall in 2011
