Cornerbacks are becoming premium purchases in NFL free agency.  So here are the mock picks of where the top names will go in 2015.

player. 55. The Patriots got what they needed from Darrelle Revis and he got what he wanted from them.  It will cost a ridiculous amount of money to retain him, which isn’t New England’s style.  More likely he’ll go back on the market.  So why the Pittsburgh Steelers?  For one they badly need help at corner but more than that, Revis is from Pennsylvania and went to the University of Pittsburgh.  It’s his hometown team.  The fit is hard to beat.. CB. New England. Darrelle Revis. 1

player. 13. The one-year trial run by the San Diego Chargers with Brandon Flowers went through extremely well.  Their pass defense was among the best in the league with him on the field so one would expect they have no desire to part ways.. CB. San Diego. Brandon Flowers. 2

player. 54. The Seattle Seahawks have a lot of financial questions coming up.  Byron Maxwell is certainly part of it but they may struggle to hang onto him and pay Russell Wilson at the same time.  Meanwhile the Philadelphia Eagles are in dire need of corner help and Maxwell would be a great fit for what they do.. CB. Seattle. Byron Maxwell. 3

57. Vic Fangio is in town, which means the Chicago Bears could be in store for a switch to a 3-4 defense.  That will require better corners than they have.  One name they should be able to sign is Chris Culliver.  He played under Fangio is San Francisco and fits the profile of what the Bears will need.. CB. San Francisco. Chris Culliver. 4. player

10. One of the more underrated free agents set to hit the market is Kareem Jackson.  The young corner was one of the best players on the Houston Texans defense and a key to their secondary.  It’s doubtful the Texans will want to lose him with other problems to address on the back end.. CB. Houston. Kareem Jackson. 5. player
