They came up short in the NFC championship, so the Green Bay Packers know they need a good draft to get over the hump.  Here are all seven mock predictions.

Jordan Phillips. 30. player. 49. Ted Thompson is all about taking the best player on the board.  Green Bay needs an inside linebacker, but if Jordan Phillips is there at #30, he must take him.  The Oklahoma nose tackle is not only huge at 330 lbs but he’s also a freak athlete for that size.  He’s already drawing comparisons to Dontari Poe.  Under the watch of Mike McCarthy, he could become a fixture in the middle for the Packers D.. DT. Oklahoma

49. This would be an outright steal.  Experts have Denzel Perryman going anywhere from the 3rd round to the early 2nd or even late 1st.  His limited size at 5’11” has made his stock fluctuate but his tape shows a rangy, smart linebacker who is always around the ball and can deliver some of the fiercest hits possible.. ILB. Miami (Fl.). Denzel Perryman. 62. player

CB. Wake Forest. Kevin Johnson. 94. player. 49. Two key corners in Tramon Williams and Davon House could leave via free agency.  The Green Bay Packers must prepare for that possibility.  Kevin Johnson played at a bad program in Wake Forest but his tape shows a player with good speed and athleticism who uses his size and length to the fullest in man coverage.

WR. Stanford. Ty Montgomery. 126. player. 49. Lack of consistency during his final season at Stanford really hurt Ty Montgomery, as did a quiet Senior Bowl.  Even so the young receiver has pro athleticism and speed which is why he was so dangerous any time he touched the football.  A definite option as both a receiver and a return man.

158. player. 49. A massive tackle with surprising agility and footwork.  Technique and functional strength both improved for him in 2014 and it showed in both his run and pass blocking for the Sooners.  There are still some rough edges, but he is starter-worthy at almost any spot with a little work.. OT. Oklahoma. Tyrus Thompson

. Hayes Pullard. 190. player. 49. There is nothing wrong with double dipping at the same position when the need is strong enough.  The Green Bay Packers should count themselves lucky if they could get Hayes Pullard this late in the NFL draft.  He’s not the perfect size but he’s fast, instinctive and plays with a chip on his shoulder.  A consistent tackler.. ILB

Akeem Hunt. 222. player. 49. In a loaded running back class, there is a strong chance some quality players will slip through the cracks.  It’s not a huge need, but the Packers could use some depth and also some help on 3rd downs in the passing game.  Akeem Hunt is tough enough to tote big loads but he also has soft hands as proven by his ability to return kicks.. RB. Purdue
