There is no doubt that 2015 NFL free agency will play a big part to team success.  So, where will some of the big names land?

Mark Ingram – RB

Current team:  New Orleans Saints

New team:  Tampa Bay Buccaneers

A common occurrence in free agency is seeing big name players seeking to stay inside their division, joining a rival team.  Mark Ingram could do just that.  The Buccaneers have plenty of money and a coach in Lovie Smith who loves to run the football.  It’s a natural fit.

  • DeMarco Murray – RB

    Current team:  Dallas Cowboys

    New team:  Indianapolis Colts

Getting tougher on the ground has to be a priority for the Indianapolis Colts, offensively and defensively.  What better way to do that than plucking the reigning NFL rushing champion from Dallas in DeMarco Murray?  He’d give some badly needed punch to their ground attack and ease the pressure on Andrew Luck, especially in the playoffs.

    Randall Cobb – WR

    Current team:  Green Bay Packers

    New team:  Chicago Bears

Never mind the entire Brandon Marshall situation.  The reason the Chicago Bears would go after Randall Cobb is simple.  He has something they lack on offense:  speed.  Putting him on the field with big bodies like Marshall and Alshon Jeffery would be cheating.  He’d also help the return game.

    Jeremy Maclin – WR

    Current team:  Philadelphia Eagles

    New team:  Kansas City Chiefs

There is a strong chance the Philadelphia Eagles make a move to keep Jeremy Maclin in town, but if they don’t — and it’s possible with Chip Kelly in charge now — he could be headed for a reunion with former coach Andy Reid.  The Chiefs badly need receiving help and Reid drafted Maclin when he coached at Philly.  It’s a natural fit.

    Jordan Cameron – TE

    Current team:  Cleveland Browns

    New team:  Atlanta Falcons

Tight end is a position that Matt Ryan loves to use on offense but after the departure of Tony Gonzalez, he hasn’t been able to as frequently.  Luckily, the Atlanta Falcons will have some cap space to spend. They could solve their problem by luring Jordan Cameron from Cleveland.  He has fallen on hard times there and is in need of a fresh start where his receiving skills will be better appreciated.

    Julius Thomas – TE

    Current team:  Denver Broncos

    New team:  Oakland Raiders

Demaryius Thomas being a free agent has pushed the Denver Broncos into a tough spot, forcing them to allow Julius Thomas to test NFL free agency.  The Oakland Raiders need to take advantage.  They need more weapons for Derek Carr and a playmaking tight end would do wonders for the youngster.

    Bryan Bulaga – RT

    Current team:  Green Bay Packers

    New team:  New York Jets

The offensive line has been good for a long time for the Jets, but the parts are getting old and need replacing.  Bryan Bulaga is a bit of risk given his injury history, but just finished easily the best season of his young career protecting Aaron Rodgers.  When healthy, he is a very good two-way blocker at right tackle.

    Mike Iupati – OG

    Current team:  San Francisco 49ers

    New team:  Jacksonville Jaguars

It could be a big spending year for the Jacksonville Jaguars and the offensive line is among the areas that need the most attention.  Getting bigger, stronger and tougher on the interior would help. Head coach Gus Bradley should have clear memories of Mike Iupati …  After all, the All-Pro guard was driving holes through his defense back when he ran the Seahawks.
