2015 NFL Mock Draft: Steelers Trade Lands Big Help
By Erik Lambert
#25 – Carolina Panthers – Ronnie Staley – OT – Notre Dame
Dominant blocking up front is what helps Cam Newton thrive and the Carolina Panthers know it. They have to ensure that trend continues. Ronnie Staley can plan tackle or guard and start right away.
#26 – Baltimore Ravens – Melvin Gordon – RB – Wisconsin
This pick may surprise some people but in truth it’s a calculated one. Melvin Gordon wasn’t a Heisman finalist by accident. He is one of those rare running talents that can dissect defenses almost at will. As if Joe Flacco needs him in the backfield.
#27 – Dallas Cowboys – Kevin Johnson – CB – Wake Forest
Not quite big enough yet for the NFL, but Kevin Johnson has all the tools to become a premium corner if he can bulk up. The Dallas Cowboys need better coverage on the back end, which really hurt them in their playoff loss.
#28 – Denver Broncos – T.J. Clemmings – OT – Pittsburgh
Is Peyton Manning done? Hard to say. One thing is clear. The Denver Broncos can always use more blocking help. T.J. Clemmings is as solid as they get from a size, power and technique standpoint. A little cleanup is need but he’s got the tools.
