The Valero Alamo Bowl shined light on several 2015 NFL Draft prospects that we’ll be taking a look at this spring, including UCLA QB Brett Hundley. The big-bodied signal caller shined early; and while his final stat line wasn’t as flashy at “box score scouts” would have liked, the Bruins QB proved that his stock could very well be on the rise.

Early on, it was clear that Hundley was ready to make a difference in his final college game under Coach Jim Mora. He led off the night with an impressive touchdown drive, one that looked to potentially propel him into first-round talks.

Despite quieting down on the stat sheet as the game progressed, Hundley was able to lead the Bruins to a smooth, solid offensive performance. It wasn’t flashy, but the redshirt Junior was able to piece together an impressive performance that will work just fine for scouts looking at the tape.

CBS Sports Draft analyst Rob Rang chimed in early in the game, noting that Hundley’s “rising stock” might just become a reality after his impressive start.

Rang brings up the point that NFL teams are going to key in on through the scouting process: Hundley’s raw physical traits are too impressive to overlook. The tools are all there for NFL teams to work with. The questions will ultimately surround in the area of NFL readiness.

Other Alamo Bowl Notes

Kansas State WR Tyler Lockett showed the world that he could be ready for a big role in the NFL with his impressive performance on Friday night. Lockett possesses impressive speed and production, but his undersized frame will bring up many questions surrounding his durability.

UCLA EDGE Owamagbe Odighizuwa flashed several times in his performance. He’s a freaky athlete that will receive interest from NFL teams due to his short area quickness.
