2015 NFL Draft Running Back Rankings: Tevin Coleman a First-Round Pick?

Most 2015 NFL Draft running back rankings show several backs ahead of Indiana RB Tevin Coleman – some having half a dozen before Coleman is listed.

Many find it hard to believe that anybody is going to top Melvin Gordon, but there’s a true chance that Coleman gets the job done and dare we say it… cracks the first round once the 2015 NFL Draft rolls around.

On Saturday against the Ohio State Buckeyes, Coleman was able to put up his third 200-yard performance on the season. He went for 228 yards on 27 carries, scoring three touchdowns in the process. The Hoosiers probably should have won the game, but everyone else that wasn’t named Tevin Coleman seemed to struggle when the team needed them the most.

Twitter was buzzing on Saturday after watching Coleman’s performance, confident that Coleman’s draft stock might just be rising as the season comes to a close. Indiana has only won three games on the year, but Hoosier fans across the country are excited to watch their guy at the next level.

Several national pundits actually weighed in on his Heisman Trophy hopes…

Wells truly put it best when he implied that the media attention just isn’t there. However, that won’t stop NFL teams from turning on the tape and taking notice.

Coleman has jets and simply speed that can’t be taught. The kid hits the hole with authority, and has no problem turning on the jets at any point on the field. There’s no reason to believe some team isn’t going to love him for his athleticism alone, but he’s turning into a rather complete player that might be worthy of a very high pick.

Melvin Gordon, Todd Gurley, Duke Johnson, and Ameer Abdullah might not agree, but Coleman is quickly earing first-round consideration.
