Week 9 will feature a lot of huge matchups between top teams vying for momentum. Here are the NFL predictions on who emerges from the rubble.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Cincinnati Bengals

Their victory over Baltimore was a huge morale boost, and now the Cincinnati Bengals have a chance to regain momentum at home and with the return of A.J. Green.  The Jacksonville Jaguars likely don’t have a chance.

Result:  JAX 14, CIN 28

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Cleveland Browns

Lovie Smith has begun the process of overturning the Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster, meaning he’s likely focused more on 2015.  His team will still put up a fight, but the Cleveland Browns have more to play for and are at home.

Result:  TB 16, CLE 24

Arizona Cardinals at Dallas Cowboys

Their loss to Washington was rather disheartening, but the Dallas Cowboys can’t dwell on it.  They play host to the red hot Arizona Cardinals and may have to do it without Tony Romo.  It’s gut check time for America’s Team.

Result:  ARZ 23, DAL 20

Philadelphia Eagles at Houston Texans

Chip Kelly has to be careful.  His Philadelphia Eagles have responded well to losses before but they can’t afford to dismiss the Houston Texans who finally have Jadeveon Clowney back paired with J.J. Watt.  Nick Foles could be in trouble.

Result:  PHI 27, HOU 26

New York Jets at Kansas City Chiefs

Rex Ryan has tried everything to get the New York Jets off the snide.  Nothing has worked and now they have to go into Arrowhead against the gritty Kansas City Chiefs who have the best defense and rushing attack in the NFL.

Result:  NYJ 13, KC 23

San Diego Chargers at Miami Dolphins

Getting Ryan Mathews back is big, but the San Diego Chargers must be careful.  Their hold in the AFC West picture is slipping and now they face a surging Miami Dolphins team that has found an identity.

Result:  SD 24, MIA 23

Washington Redskins at Minnesota Vikings

Their win over Dallas was a major confidence boost but now the Washington Redskins have to see whether RGIII returning helps or hinders their progress.  A stiff test against the bothersome Minnesota Vikings will be perfect.

Result:  WSH 21, MIN 17

St. Louis Rams at San Francisco 49ers

Struggling though they might be, the St. Louis Rams always find a way to make life hard on the San Francisco 49ers.  Don’t expect this game to be any different.  It will be close and physical but rest and home field may tell the final story.

Result:  STL 19, SF 21

Denver Broncos at New England Patriots

Brady vs. Manning.  Can life get better?  Probably not.  A rematch between the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots figures to have plenty of fireworks.  Both teams are rolling.  Either home field or the Broncos defense will likely decide the outcome.

Result:  DEN 27, NE 30

Oakland Raiders at Seattle Seahawks

Is there any point in explaining this?  Rookie Oakland Raiders quarterback.  Seattle Seahawks at home.  Please.

Result:  OAK 10, SEA 42

Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers

As rivalries go, it doesn’t get more heated or painful than when the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers get together.  Joe Flacco commanded the first matchup, but Ben Roethlisberger is steaming.  Something will have to give at Heinz Field.

Result:  BAL 20, PIT 24

Indianapolis Colts at New York Giants

Anybody with eyes knows that it’s all urgency for the New York Giants moving forward.  They will bring their best shot against an Indianapolis Colts team reeling from their 51-34 spanking in Pittsburgh.  The quarterbacks will tell the tale in this game.

Result:  IND 31, NYG 28
