As the halfway point approaches in Week 8, who are some NFL fantasy sleepers that owners must take advantage of?

Bryce Brown – RB – Buffalo Bills

C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson are both out for the forseeable future, which largely leaves the Buffalo Bills running game in the hands of Bryce Brown.  After not playing most of the year, the trade the team made for him is looking like sheer brilliance.  Granted, the New York Jets aren’t the most ideal matchup but if owners are searching for an emergency substitute who can produce both in the short and long-term, Brown is definitely the guy.

Teddy Bridgewater – QB – Minnesota Vikings

Rookie seasons can often be tough.  Teddy Bridgewater is learning that the hard way for the Minnesota Vikings.  Still, he may be in for a slight reprieve as he gets ready to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who boast the worst pass defense in the league.  Bridgewater has shown he can put the ball in the air provided he gets protection, and NFL fantasy owners should make sure to take advantage of this opportunity.

Mike Wallace – WR – Miami Dolphins

Another favorable matchup to watch for is wide receiver Mike Wallace.  He hasn’t always lit it up for the Miami Dolphins in 2014 but he’s had enough moments to prove he may go off at any time.  Facing the Jacksonville Jaguars and their struggling secondary counts as a definite opportunity to pile up some numbers.  The key will be whether Ryan Tannehill gets some time up front.

Scott Chandler – TE – Buffalo Bills

He hasn’t been the most consistent target but Scott Chandler has enough receiving ability to have big games when the winds are right.  One big thing to note is he historically plays pretty well against the New York Jets, who have really struggled this season stopping opposing tight end, especially in the end zone.  Kyle Orton won’t put the ball in the air too much, but he’ll definitely try to take advantage of Chandler on key downs.

Cleveland Browns defense

Was their loss last week a sign or a just a hiccup.  Up until recently the Cleveland Browns defense had played pretty well, shutting down the Pittsburgh Steelers among other feats.  Hopes are high they can rebound in Week 8 and NFL fantasy owners have a great chance to get some extra points as they face the erratic Oakland Raiders with their rookie quarterback Derek Carr.
