Wide receivers face some interesting scenarios for week 2 in fantasy football.  Which ones need to start and which should take a seat?

Starts

Jordy Nelson vs. New York Jets

Aaron Rodgers returns to Green Bay a little frustrated after his struggles in Seattle.  History shows he rebounds in a big way after such defeats.  Jordy Nelson should be a big benefactor of that, especially against a New York Jets secondary that is depleted by injuries.

A.J. Green vs. Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta may have won in week 1, but they did so at home with a huge effort from the offense.  Their defense remains a problem, allowing the Saints to amass 333 yards passing including 110 to Marques Colston.  So how much better can they expect to do on the road against Cincinnati and their younger, more explosive star A.J. Green?

T.Y. Hilton vs. Philadelphia Eagles

One thing fantasy football owners have learned over the past two years is never throw in the towel on T.Y. Hilton.  The short by speedy receiver has a way of exploding coming off bad performances like the one in Denver.  The fact he faces a very pedestrian Philadelphia Eagles secondary on the fast track of Lucas Oil Stadium is a big alert.

Sits

Keenan Allen vs. Seattle Seahawks

It was a rather quiet week 1 for Keenan Allen in Arizona with five catches for 37 yards.  The hope is a return home will help him get back on track.  Unfortunately it’s coming against the best secondary in football as the Seattle Seahawks pay a visit.  Don’t expect Richard Sherman to be a giving man.

Cordarrelle Patterson vs. New England Patriots

The buzz has been constantly increasing around dynamic young Minnesota receiver Cordarrelle Patterson but things are turning against him in week 2.  Not only will Adrian Peterson no be available to deter double coverage, but he must face a strong New England Patriots secondary led by Darrelle Revis.

Julio Jones vs. Cincinnati Bengals

His return from a season-ending injury last season was swift as Julio Jones busted out of the gate with 116 yards against New Orleans.  Unfortunately, his quarterback Matt Ryan lost another key blocker in Jake Matthews and must now go on the road against a top ranked Bengals defense.
