The first round of the 2014 NFL Draft featured some surprises, including the Jacksonville Jaguars taking Blake Bortles. As always, nothing went scripted once teams were on the clock, and I don’t expect anything different tonight.
Here are a few things to watch as we approach the beginning of Day Two.
Where does Derek Carr go?
Carr is a tricky prospect. He can throw the ball downfield with the best of them, but he’ll never be able to shed the last name, also owned by his brother David, who was a huge bust. It’ll be interesting to see if the Houston Texans, who will be on the clock first tonight, go after their signal-caller of the future.
Will we see a running back get drafted?
We didn’t get to experience a running back walking up on the stage last night, but I expect a few backs to be taken tonight. I had previously made a prediction that 10 will go off the board tonight, and while that number might be a bit high, don’t be shocked if you see a huge run of rushers.
How many offensive tackles will go off the board?
Last night, we had five tackles fly off of the board. Tonight, I expect an even higher number tonight. A list of players include: Cyrus Kouandjio, Morgan Moses, Jack Mewhort, Joel Bitonio, Billy Turner, and Antonio Richardson.
When will Marqise Lee be taken?
Lee is still on the board, and with injury concerns, he could be sitting for a bit tonight. There are many teams that need receivers, but so many other talents are still sticking around. Weigh in below with your comments on this one. Where will Lee’s new home be?
