The Miami Dolphins needed only to beat the New York Jets or Buffalo Bills in the last two weeks of the season to lock down a playoff spot in 2013, and they couldn’t make it happen. They seemed to make some strides from what we’d seen in 2012, Ryan Tannehill’s first with the team, but they were absolutely crushed in those two games to end the season.
The Dolphins got rid of some major distractions that could have played a part in last season’s collapse, letting Richie Incognito go and trading Jonathan Martin to the 49ers. They addressed the hole at OT in a huge way by being one of the first teams to agree to terms with a 2014 unrestricted free agent, signing Branden Albert to a big money deal.

Dolphins Top Team Needs
1. Offensive Tackle
Signing Branden Albert addressed the Dolphins’ top need at left tackle. Now they need a right tackle.
2. Offensive Guard
The Dolphins have Dallas Thomas waiting in the wings, and they signed Shelley Smith from the Rams. This need is pretty well addressed unless they feel like they need more competition.
3. Defensive Line
Paul Soliai is gone, and the Dolphins signed Earl Mitchell, but if the right player comes along, I don’t know if they’d pass on him. This is an area to upgrade.
4. Linebacker
5. Tight End
6. Receiver
