1st Round 11th Overall — D.J. Fluker OT/OG, Alabama — B+

The Chargers had to help their offensive line and Fluker was the best offensive lineman left on the board. He can play both inside at guard and outside at right tackle. Many thought he would be drafted before Warmack.

2nd Round 38th Overall — Manti Te’o LB, Notre Dame — A-

I really like this pick. People get all bent out of shape over the Alabama game and ignore the rest of his fantastic season. He should have been picked in the 20’s of the 1st round so this is good value at a position of need.

3rd Round 76th Overall — Keenan Allen WR, Cal — A+

This is one of the best steals of the draft. Allen might have been the best receiver in the draft and they got him in the 3rd round. He has great hands and is a tough receiver.

5th Round 145th Overall — Steve Williams CB, Cal — B

This might have been slightly early for him, but he can play immediately in the slot and help in the return game. The Chargers really needed help at the cornerback position.

6th Round 179th Overall — Tourek Williams OLB/DE, Florida International — A

I had Williams with a mid 4th/early 5th round grade. The Chargers need help at the rush linebacker position and Williams is a very good pass rusher.

7th Round 221st Overall — Brad Sorensen QB, Southern Utah — C

The Chargers needed a backup for Philip Rivers, but Sorensen wasn’t the best QB left on the board.

Overall — B+

I really like the Chargers first 3 picks in Fluker, Te’o and Allen. They should step in immediately and help the team out. Fluker will really help in the run game and help protect Rivers. Te’o can come in and man one of the inside linebacker positions. Allen will give Rivers a reliable target who will run good routes and catch pretty much everything thrown his way. Steve Williams can come in and help in the return game as well as the nickel CB. Tourek Williams may need to step right in and try and provide a pass rush.
