Scouting Report/Player Notes
Chris Jones is one of the most consistently productive defensive tackles in the entire 2013 NFL Draft crop. He has posted three straight seasons of double-digit tackles for loss, while having his most fruitful season rushing the quarterback and making plays behind the LOS in 2012 with 19.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks. Check out some of his career highlights via the Bowling Green Athletics website:

• First-Team All-MAC (2011)
• Team Captain (2011)
• Named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week twice (Idaho, Temple, 2011)
• Third-Team All-MAC (2010)
• National Defensive Lineman of the Week (Central Michigan, 2010)
• Named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week (Central Michigan, 2010)
• MAC Defensive Player of the Year (2012)
• First-Team All-MAC (2012)
• Third-Team All-American by AP (2012)
• First-Team All-America by FWAA (2012)
That is the kind of player I want playing on my team. Jones will likely not be drafted in the first two, maybe even first three rounds. However, in a defensive tackle class that seems to be loaded with talent, he is going to go largely unnoticed. Whatever team drafts Jones–be it in the third round, fourth round, or whenever–they have clearly done their homework and can add him into the rotation almost immediately. I think he’s a really underrated prospect who is a hard worker, team leader, and one of the most consistently productive players in his class.
