The LSU Tigers will definitely not look the same when the 2013 season rolls around. After a huge wave of juniors decided to declare for the 2013 NFL Draft, another wave of really prominent players has decided to follow suit.

Defensive linemen Bennie Logan, Sam Montgomery, and Barkevious Mingo are all heading into the 2013 NFL Draft, all with potential first round grades.

Logan led all LSU defensive linemen with 45 total tackles on the season, while Montgomery led all defensive linemen with 13 tackles for loss. The entire trio had huge expectations going into the season, but statistically Barkevious Mingo was probably the most disappointing. He finished with 4.5 sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss on the year.

Still, despite the underachievement statistically, I think all three could wind up being first round selections. Each one has a ton of potential, especially in an aggressive four man front. Montgomery and Mingo could also have futures as 3-4 outside linebackers.

After the dust all settles, I’m not sure if we’ll see any more LSU players declare for the draft, but here is an impressive list of players heading off to the NFL:

RB Spencer Ware
DL Bennie Logan
DE Sam Montgomery
DE Barkevious Mingo
LB Kevin Minter
CB Tharold Simon
S Eric Reid
P Brad Wing
CB Tyrann Matthieu (suspended for 2012 season)
