Wednesday night is not exactly known around the country as college football’s night, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some intriguing games going on. NFL scouts will be looking on as Northern Illinois takes on Toledo at Husky Stadium on ESPN2.

Why watch this game? Well, the two teams have a combined record of 17-3, both are going to be playing in bowls, and Toledo has a running back who is worth your while.

Junior tailback David Fluellen is having a huge breakout year for the Rockets, rushing for 1,381 yards and 12 touchdowns on 230 carries. The 6’0″ 215 pound back has also caught 26 passes out of the backfield, and if he keeps it up, he could have a similar fate to that of former Temple running back Bernard Pierce.

Certainly, Fluellen has a chance to take his talent to the NFL after this season. He is a big back with explosive ability who is making a name for himself in 2012 as one of the stars of this Toledo team, which has been ranked in the top 25 at times.

Prior to this season, Fluellen had not yet rushed for 500 yards in a single season, and he’s already doubled his touchdown total from last season. It will be interesting to see him in the spotlight in a huge game for the Rockets, where they go on the road to face off against a very tough Northern Illinois team.
