Former Baylor WR Josh Gordon Looks Impressive at Pro Day Workout
Former Baylor receiver Josh Gordon is gaining some serious steam heading into the 2012 NFL Supplemental Draft. He proved that at least some of that hype is warranted with some impressive Pro Day numbers that were reported earlier on Tuesday by Adam Caplan.
Caplan reported that Gordon ran a 4.52 in the 40 yard dash, and had a very impressive overall size ratio at 6-foot-3, 224 pounds. He also had a 36-inch vertical jump, a 10’1″ broad jump, and 13 reps on the bench press. Also according to reports, Gordon pulled his hamstring during his second 40 yard dash, which was closer to the 4.6 range, but he still tried to run routes for teams.
According to Caplan, there were 21 teams in attendance with two representatives in most cases from each team. Among those teams were the Browns, Eagles, Cowboys, Bears, Seahawks, Chiefs, Colts, 49ers, Redskins, Bills, Texans, Patriots, Vikings, and Saints. A really intriguing destination to me would be the Houston Texans, who have a potential void at their number two receiver spot.
Gordon played his last season of college ball at Baylor in 2010, where he tied for the team lead with seven touchdown catches. He had transferred to Utah to play in 2012, but he reportedly entered the supplemental draft for financial reasons.
Last year, only Ohio State’s Terrelle Pryor was selected in the supplemental draft, picked in the third round by the Oakland Raiders. Gordon is a big receiver with big play ability who really looked like he could be one of the best receivers in college football before he sat out the 2011 season.

The process for Gordon becoming part of someone’s team will go in the same order as the 2012 NFL Draft.
