2012-2013 NFL Dynasty League Running Back Rankings
By Bo Martin
Next up is the running back position. The RB position in fantasy football has grown significantly less impressive. As the evolution of the league continues and it rises as a “passing league” it’s become harder to find a bevy of productive runningbacks that you can rely on. It’s important to nab a guy and I have another list to help you make your decisions!
Rank | Name | Team | Remarks |
1 | LeSean McCoy | Phi | I really can’t imagine a better running back with more complete skills |
2 | Ray Rice | Bal | Greatback who offers PPR bonus |
3 | Arian Foster | Hou | Should be #1 but that Ben Tate kid can run and he might take a few carries |
4 | Adrian Peterson | Min | Injury makes him a question but recovery seems like it’s going well |
5 | Matt Forte | Chi | Contract situation is scary with Bush behind but he’s a dynamic player |
6 | Jamaal Charles | KC | Be cautious of the situation |
7 | Chris Johnson | Tenn | Not a huge believer |
8 | Maurice Jones Drew | Jax | Mojo isn’t slowing down, sorry experts |
9 | Darren McFadden | Oak | Can he stay healthy? |
10 | Ryan Matthews | SD | Poised for a huge year but I have to see it first |
11 | Marshawn Lynch | Sea | As long as he has skittles, he’s one of the best in the league |
12 | DeMarco Murray | Dal | If he’s healthy he could really earn top 5 mention |
13 | Jonathan Stewart | Car | Timeshare is questionable |
14 | Trent Richardson | Cle | Huge potential for a back who could be top 7 by end of the season |
15 | Ahmad Bradshaw | NYG | He’s gotta step up |
16 | Mark Ingram | NO | Still hold onto his long term value but he’s trending down |
17 | Jahvid Best | Det | When he’s not concussed, he’s a versatile game-breaker |
18 | Reggie Bush | Mia | NFL rushing title clear in his future? |
19 | Chris Wells | Ari | Careful here. Health and Ryan Williams will be nipping at his heals |
20 | Frank Gore | SFO | Getting older but still productive. Weird RB group in SF though |
21 | Darren Sproles | NO | Dangerous, but mostly a PPR threat |
22 | Roy Helu | Was | Shanny… sigh.. |
23 | Steven Jackson | StL | |
24 | Benjarvus Green-Ellis | CIN | Like the situation, could be a huge sleeper. |

26 | Ben Tate | Hou | Best backup in the league. |
27 | C.J. Spiller | Buf | Could be his year to breakout? |
28 | Shonn Green | NYJ | Losing weight but isn’t the dynamic back fantasy owners were hoping he’d be |
