BATTLES TO WATCH:

QB: You read it right, I don’t see Jackson on the roster on opening day.  Flynn is a clear upgrade and Wilson will be ready to assume the backup role from day one.  The team is too high on Portis to risk losing him on the practice squad.

WR: If Mike Williams has a poor camp, or gets injured again, you could see an unheralded receiver like Tuinei or an old standby like Ben Obumanu make the cut.  The team has high hopes for Durham and Lockette, one of the reasons they didn’t take any receivers in this year’s draft.  Also, keep an eye on Raymond Webber.  He’s big, young, and fast.  The Hawks claimed him off waivers the day he was let go by Tampa Bay last week.

K: Carson Wiggs has an extremely strong leg and could beat out Hauschka

CB: Lots of talent here.  Veterans Marcus Trufant and Roy Lewis are still around, and Carroll is intrigued by youngsters Maragos, Snead and Donny Lisowski.

DE: This could be one of the fiercest battles in camp.  Allen makes sense as a guy who can play the 5-technique, but one of the youngsters Law, Scruggs or Taylor could pop.
