Head to SideLion Report for moer on the Detroit Lions.

What are the team needs for the Detroit Lions heading into the draft?

I break down the Lions’ needs like this:
Primary: OL, CB
Secondary: S, RB, DE
Other positions to consider based on value: 4th WR, Developmental QB, LB

Who are some prospects you’d like to see end up with the Lions?

In the first round, I would love to see the Lions come away with a premier pass rusher like Nick Perry or Whitney Mercilus or take care of the center position for the next decade with Peter Konz. Janoris Jenkins becomes intriguing if the Lions can pick him up in the second round and Josh Norman is a corner that would look great for the Lions in round three.

What would represent a successful draft in your opinion?

The ultimate success of this draft may not be known for a couple years but Lions fans should feel good about this draft at the close of the weekend as long as the Lions add talent to meet current and future needs. That means a cornerback or two that will see the field in 2012 and a defensive end and offensive linemen to step in when veterans are ready to call it a career.

Give us a bold prediction for your team.

The Lions’ most pressing needs are on defense but they will finish the 2012 draft with more offensive players than defensive players.
