Calvin Johnson “Wins” 2013 NFL Madden Cover: Matt Millen Hired Back As General Manager

Calvin Johnson recently won the Madden cover for the 2013 version of the popular video game, and Lions fans are terrified. One of the weirdest phenomenon in sports to me is the superstitious behavior of fans, because of the supposed Madden Curse. Go to any message board for any popular team in regards to the Madden cover voting and see how many fans brag about voting against  the representative of their favorite team to ensure that he will not appear on the Madden cover.  What do Lions fans think is going to happen? Calvin Johnson is going to get hurt? Or worse the Lions will re-hire Matt Millen? I’m not a very superstitious person (said the person who picked against the Giants every game in the playoffs to keep the underdog mentality alive), but it’s always fun to me how superstitious fans can be.

general fans are. I think it’s good for the franchise. First the Playoff appearance last year now appearing on the Madden cover. If the Lions could play clean they might be the darlings of the National Football League!

Anyway, incase you live under a rock and didn’t know who won the cover it was Calvin Johnson.

And if you’re a fan and are worried about curses-the real curse is hosting the Superbowl. Teams who host the Superbowl don’t do well. Just imagine this time last year. Saints fans were excited to host the Superbowl and since then they’ve lost their head coach, general manager, lots of money (the owners at least), two second round picks, and the team is fighting with their quarterback. Oh let’s not forget they are nowinvolved in a water-gate type espionage scandal.

Talk about curses.
