Josh Robinson Central Florida

Robinson is the definition of speed, the man who ran the fastest forty yard dash a the combine at 4.33 seconds in the forty yard dash. Robinson is a “riser” on boards to the common draft man, but not really in terms of his talent on the field. He was slated as a third round prospect, his tape is pretty good, but now cements himself in the late first, but probably second round range. Robinson also had one of the best bench presses for cornerbacks and is a real talent and a possible 2nd round selection for the Chiefs.

Dwight Bentley Louisiana Lafayette

Bentley doesn’ have terrific size at 5’10, but is a really good athlete. A guy who is in the top 100 of some draft boards (fringe top 1oo), Bentley is a nice mid round pick for a team looking for a developmental starter and instant slot guy. He also has speed, he ran a 4.43 forty yard dash at the combine.

Pass rushers with speed:

Irvin is he fastest Linebacker in the draft with 4.4 speed (4.50 official 40 yard dash). He’s also been a productive pass rusher in college, with terrific closing speed. The issue with Irvin is that he’s a projection system player-a guy who is almost universally considered just a situational pass rusher.  How high do you spend on a pick for a guy who might be what Aaron Maybin was last year (a guy who racked up a few sacks finally). I think he’s better than most do.

Darius Fleming out of Norte Dame.

A late round guy who tested well. 4.77 forty yard dash at 246 pounds, 27 bench press reps. Not a coverage guy but a pretty good pass rusher guy and can play some run defense.

Shea McLellin is a guy flying up draft boards. If the Chiefs want him it’s second round or bust. Mclellin ran a 4.63 forty yard dash, big hands considered a hustle player.

Ronnell Lewis a guy I like more than some. A really solid second round player. A guy who is very athletic, but kind of without a true position in college. Lewis is strong (36 bench press reps) and fast 4.68 at 253 pounds. Lewis plays violently on the field, but doesn’t have great instincts and will need to be coached up. With the right coach he could thrive..
