In preparation for the off-season the Indianapolis Colts have released their entire roster-well that’s just slight exagerration. They have released many of the “Manning Era-Mainstays”. Today the team announced they have released Joseph Addai, Dallas Clark, Melvin Bullitt. Gary Brackett and Curtis Painter. Yesterday they released Future Hall of Fame Quarterback Peyton Manning. Gary Brackett was a leader on the Colts defense for the recent past and Joseph Addai was a former first round pick who was very successful running back who was recently re-signed last year. Dallas Clark is still a very productive player. The team also has Reggie Wayne and Pierre Garcon set to hit free agency. Outside or Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis (just re-signed) this Colts team will be unrecognizable to even the most die-hard Colts fan.

It’s possible that next year Peyton Manning could have Colts “west” somewhere with Peyton Manning, Dallas Clark, Reggie Wayne, Joseph Addai.

In an unrelated move the Giants will release Giants running back Brandon Jacobs. Jacobs took a pay cut last year and was set to take another pay-cut to stay with the Giants this year, but with an unknown cap, and the Giants having a high payroll this release does not come as a surprise.
