Denver Broncos Off Season To Do List: Deciding if Tebow is the Future

Denver Broncos off Season Check List
2011 Outcome (8-8)
Wow, what a first season for John Elway and John Fox. They quickly go from Kyle Orton who was 1-4 as a starter to Tim Tebow. Not because they wanted to but because they had to. Next thing you know the Broncos finish on a 7-4 run and a first round playoff win verse the Steelers. Now Tebow didn’t always look pretty but he was clutch and seemed to energize the Broncos team and fan base. I think the Broncos should build around him and get the guy some more playmakers. The Offensive Line could use some upgrading as well and the defense needs to get younger. A setback could happen in year 2 as an 8-8 finish usually doesn’t win a division.
Coach Seat Temperature
John Fox is very secure and popular inDenver. Even a setback next season would not damage his job security. Elway wants stability and Fox will give that to him. MikeMcCoy did a great job as an OC and was a target for some HC openings. DC Dennis Allen did a solid job and was awarded the HC position for the Oakland Raiders. He was replaced by Jack Del Rio who is a good fit under Fox.
2011 Draft Class Rating (B)
This was a solid first class for Fox and the Broncos. Von Miller is an All Pro talent whom the Broncos can build a defense around. Orlando Franklin should move inside since he was exposed at OT. Rahim Moore was very inconsistent as a first year starter at FS but should improve in year 2. The rest of the class provided solid depth.
2010 Draft Class Rating (B+)
I guess Josh McDaniels didn’t do too badly in this draft. Tim Tebow is the starting QB and has showed greatness at times but still needs a ton of work. Demeyrius Thomas appears to be a future star at WR. Zane Beadles and JD Walton were average starters on the OL but are not guaranteed that spot next season. Erik Deckar is a solid WR in the red zone.
2009 Draft Class Rating (F)
This class was instrumental in the firing of McDaniels. Knowshon Moreno is mediocre and injury prone. Robert Ayers is an okay LDE who excels defending the run but provides little in terms of a pass rush. Alphonso Smith was traded toDetroitfor little in return. The rest are future cuts or have already been cut.
