2012 Senior Bowl Day Two Practice Notes
This is a great time of year for draft fans. The pre-draft process really revs up this week with the Senior Bowl. Thankfully the Senior Bowl is televised on the NFL Network for those of us who can’t get down to the game.
I thought it’d be fun to give you the recap of day two of the Senior Bowl through reactionary tweets.
let me know in the comments if you like it this way or if you’d rather see a more standard “news and Notes” and reactionary post.
I’ll of course throw in my own two cents here and there as I’m wont to do. My thoughts will be in italics.
A couple of the standouts include WR Marvin Jones, LB Lavonte David, LB Audie Cole
One of the players who struggled the most was QB Kellen Moore, whom might not even be a draftable Quarterback despite his success at Boise State. He just doesn’t have the arm.

This is a bit disappointing, I like Polk and think he is a good runner who can also catch the football. He’s balanced, but if he can’t pass protect at the N.F.L. level he won’t see the field as much as he could otherwise.

I think Brewster needs a big week. He was a fringe 1st round prospect to start the year, but now I see him mocked in the third round sometimes. I’m still closer to fringe first round, he struggled a bit, but he’s a real quality player. Needs a big week.

Dennard (CB Nebraska) is playin a lot of Nickel back today, I think that’s where he’ll be in the pros as well
Dennard is another guy who needs a big day, but playing the nickely isn’t a great sign. It could be an indication that teams don’t think he can handle outside well…he struggled in practice as well on Day one.

Iloka besides Mike Adams has had the best first two days of the Senior Bowl. He’s a massive safety prospect and is running and playing coverage than anyone expected. In a class that isn’t terrific at safety Iloka can really make a big move up here througout this week.

Fleming is a guy who had a terrific Bowl game as well and is really seeing his stock soar right now. It hink he has a great chance of being a second round pick .

Sideline Scouting
Marvin Jones has looked good, consistently beating corners down the field.
I’ve been writing this for awhile for you NFlmocks daily readers, I think Marvin jones is one of the most underrated prspects in this draft. He’s not a terrific prospect, but he can make plays down the field and over the top and in today’s N.F.l. that’s a great quality to have. Can he start outside…yes, eventually, but he can definitely be a guy who really rounds out your receiving corps.

Kellen Moore just doesn’t look like he belongs.

Impressed with Nebraska OLB Lavonte David during one-on-one pass rush. Physical player at point of attack.
David is smaller, but he is fast, instinctive and can really tackle well. Not afriad to take on blockes either. A real good solid pick in round two. I prefer him over Sean Spence who Russ Lande recently mocked into the 1st round.

Not surprising, The Jets will really look to improve their running game this off-season by adding OL and a Running backk.

Osemele has not impressed me today. Has to move inside to guard, but lumbers and struggles to redirect. Not as physical as you’d think.

Kelemente (G, Washington) has impressed me. Looks athletic, has some pop with his hands, looks like he could really help himself this week.
