Washington Redskins Off Season To Do List: Is Robert Griffin III on the horizon

Washington Redskins off Season Check List
2011 Outcome (5-11)
Anyone that thought the Redskins would win more than 5-6 games with Rex Grossman and John Beck at QB needs to get their head examined. Redskins will need to improve this position by either trading up for Robert Griffin, trading back for Ryan Tannehill, or signing Matt Flynn as a FA which would be the best move since they would likely need to trade a decent amount for RG3. The good news for the Redskins is their defense is really stout and the run game came on towards the end of the season.
Coach Seat Temperature
MikeShanahan is going to be the Redskins coach next season. His reputation will get him a third season but he will need to have the Redskins competitive to stay on longer. I love OC Kyle Shanahan and Jim Haslett has done a decent job as DC. Expect continuity next season which is something the Snyder owned Redskins are not accustomed to.
2011 Draft Class Rating (B)
This class has potential to become a solid class…it is not for sure yet but there is talent. Ryan Kerrigan is a terror lined up across Orakapo. Kerrigan transitioned to LB better than most thought he would. Jarvis Jenkins missed the entire season but the Redskins coaching staff thinks very highly of him. Leonard Hankerson was very quiet in year 1 but should get more opportunity in his second season at WR. Roy Helu looks like a keeper at RB who is a strong runner and a very good pass receiver out of the backfield. Evan Royster showed to be a solid depth RB and the rest of the class provides steady depth.
2010 Draft Class Rating (C)
Uncertainty fills this class but there are some solid picks. Trent Williams could become a Pro Bowl talent if he would stop breaking the rules and commit himself to the game. Perry Rilley was a revelation at ILB and appears to be a steal. The rest of the class was filled with misses.
2009 Draft Class Rating (C-)
Drafting a Pro Bowl talent always is nice but missing on the rest of the draft is not. Brian Orakapo is a monster at OLB. Kevin Barnes is a solid depth player in the secondary. After that it is filled with ex-NFL players.
Current Needs
Offense: QB, WR, OL
Defense: NT, ILB, CB
Current FA
Santana Moss: Santana Moss is a solid veteran WR but is not what he used to be. Still it would be wise to sign him for a 1 year contract.
Fred Davis: Before he got suspended for using Banned Substances Davis was an emerging young TE. It would be wise for a team lacking offensive firepower to resign this emerging talent.
London Fletcher: This guy is like the terminator…he just keeps going and producing. He is the heart and sole of the defense and it would be wise to sign him for one more year to teach the young LB talent the ins and outs of the NFL.
LaRon Landry: Landry is a top 5 safety in the NFL. He is a beast against the run and has improved his coverage over the years. Franchise him at the least but do not lose him.
Current Mock
1. Dre Kirkpatrick CB Alabama
2. Ryan Tannehill QB Texas AM
3. Brandon Washington OG Miami
